The Hofn area is a major fishing and tourist hub in southeast Iceland renowned for its stunning natural scenery as the gateway to the Vatnajokull glacier, its proximity to the famous Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon and Diamond Beach, as well as its status as the "lobster capital" of Iceland. The name "Hofn" itself means "harbor".
