Aspen, Colorado, is a world-renowned mountain town in the Elk Mountains, famous for luxury skiing, outdoor recreation (hiking, biking), vibrant arts (Aspen Art Museum), and a celebrity-studded, affluent atmosphere, built on a rich history as a silver-mining boomtown that transitioned into a premier destination for the wealthy and outdoors enthusiasts seeking high-end culture and natural beauty. I started skiing at Aspen in 1966 and skied it most years thereafter for over 20 years. One of my favorite places!
