Driving across Colorado from west to east offers a transition from arid desert landscapes to towering peaks and eventually to the high plains. The two primary routes are the efficient I-70 and the scenic, less-trafficked US-50 through the southern part of the state. Even though we live off US 50 in California we took the I-70 and I-80 route to hit Wyoming.
